1 Week Out

It's less than a week until The Mane Event Gravel Grinder, and thank you for supporting us and the Sheridan Lions Club Sundowners organization. Your entry means more than just a good time on gravel; it means adults and children get to receive free vision screenings, prescription glasses, and other procedures they normally wouldn’t be able to afford. Now, down to business.

The Koltiska Pumpkin Patch farm is going to be a great start/finish/staging area. As Gary Koltiska, owner of the farm, said, “I don’t know  why y’all do what you do, but I do want everyone to have a good time.”

Getting to the Event: You can get to the farm by going to 120 Cat Creek Road, Sheridan Wyoming ( Google Map Link). As you get closer to the farm, there will also be signs to the Pumpkin patch and orange arrows at intersections. You won’t be able to miss the start/finish/staging area once you arrive.

Rider Check-in: Rider check-in will be between 4 pm and 8 pm on Friday, September 19th, at the start/finish area at the farm. Late check-in on the day of needs to happen 30 minutes before your heat, or you won't start. Please try to check in on Friday so things aren’t as crazy on the day of.

After the Event Meal: You have a meal waiting for you after your event. They start serving at 11am and you have a few menu items to choose from. Bring money if you want to add something to your plate, but your meal includes a main food item, a side, and a drink. You will be eating up at the farmhouse area, and there will be a shuttle to drive you up if you don’t feel like walking or biking up to it. It's not far, but it is a few hundred yards away.

The variety of pumpkins found at Koltiskas

Pumpkin Patchin’ - PLEASE visit the Koltiska’s pumpkin patch! Please purchase something from them as a thank you for their support. They’ve been such a gracious host and very kind to do the work they have done to make this event special, and we want to be invited back next year. Bring your family and friends, so after the ride, you can relax, eat, and then visit the patch to purchase a fall gourd. They also have a petting animal area that is a hit with the kids.

SWAG - We’ll have your t-shirts ready, Hammer Nutrition goodies, etc, for your rider check-in SWAG bag.

Awards - We have some special awards made for us from a local Sheridan-ite for the men's and women's first through third placing individuals for each distance.

Aid Stations - We will have water, electrolyte drink (Hammer Nutrition HEED), and a bunch of portable food items at all of the aid stations. We recommend two bottles of fluids with you on the bike and food in your pockets. Then fill up at the aid stations as necessary.

GPX Map files - Feel free to download the latest GPX File downloads for your bike computers from our Courses page. We’re done fiddling with them, honest!
